Within Memory is the eighth title of the renowned pianist and composer Craig Urquhart. With a strong musical education in classical music, the artist deviates slightly from this style, establishing a more personal music and showing one of the most delicate touch at the piano. Slow and emotive melodies manifest an exquisiteness unique, extraordinary. Memory Within has ten pieces that are peaceful in nature, the maximum expression in sensitivity, which the nostalgia is the dominant emotion in each track. The first track on the CD is "In The Afternoon". Pleasant and welcoming, this has a catchy melody that is repeated till the end. With simplicity and calm, Craig's hands give shape to this beautiful piece with gentle strokes of chords and delicate high notes, which sometimes yields to the lowest notes of the piano the main melody. "The Garden" makes the feeling of nostalgia becomes powerfully emotional. It's amazing the strength that has this track lacking of strong chords and and fast melodies, where simply one piano achieves great expression that shudders. One of my favourites. "Before The Canvas" has a dark sensibility. A melancholic piece, improvised from deep with slow and puzzling progressions that accompany a melody that seems to draw a free course. A theme shows a side slightly bitter. Warm and cozy is "Rapture." With a passionate touch, Craig achieved with this beautiful and exciting melody draw a smile on the listener. The sweetness that reveals this piece is really amazing. I love it. "Laid Back" lives up to its name (Relajado), to bring the listener into a state of complete stillness. Eerie tune, yet hypnotic, where low chords, very delicate, are repeated from start to finish, accompanying to furtive high notes emerging, some with force. "October Bright Blue" is another of the pieces that have a powerful force. With a great sense of liberation, as if in a cloud travel, melody breaks through with force in terms of feeling and with great delicacy in the touch. A time dedicated to one of the most beautiful seasons of the year. Beautiful theme!. "Low Tide" gives way within minutes of privacy. A sad and reflective track, perfect for moments of retraining. The downcast melody does not gives way an iota of happiness, showing one of the deeper theme on the album. "Summer Twilight" is a slow flowing and very melancholy. A theme that opens a deep void, the sense of desolation is incredible. The melody that draws the right hand is fading, accentuating the feeling of loss, while the left hand progressions accompanied by attempting, unsuccessfully, to provide encouragement and strength. The warmth of "Prairie Flowers" is amazing, this piece gives the sensation of freedom and nonchalance that are truly amazing. Craig's hands playing one of the most upbeat and emotive melodies of this album, filled with a desired feeling of comfort to the listener. Another of my favorites!. Endowed with great beauty, "Within Memory" is the part title track and the track that closes, showing a catchy melody and touching moments of emotion that create a feeling of nostalgia that reaches its peak on this track . I love it. Within Memory is synonymous with subtlety and elegance. Craig Urquhart manages to shake the soul of the listener disregarding of swift and strong melodies and betting on a more emotional and intimate side. The artist gives life to pieces that fit perfectly as a soundtrack for images that we tend to remember fondly beautiful and unforgettable moments that one day we live. Simply extraordinary. Within Memory is a very highly recommended album!. Score: 5/5
